Entry Gates of Jim Corbett National Park

There are mainly four entry gates for Jeep safari in Corbett national park:

Jhirna Gate -

Jhirna Safari zone is opened round the year for wildlife safari. Situated in Jim Corbett national park, Jhirna gate is 16 km from Ramnagar. Visitors need the permit issued by Corbett Tiger Reserve before entering the Jhirna zone for safari. Jhirna safari zone is known for natural beauty and wild animals especially for wild beer which one can spot suddenly in front of your vehicle.Jhirna Zone is known for Safari. It's the best place for the safari. Visitors can opt for Morning and evening safari. It's advised to book your safari at least 6 days before reaching Jim Corbett national park. It's compulsory to take a guide along with you during safari.

Bijrani Gate -

Amadanda gate is the entry gate for the Bijrani safari zone which is 1 km from Ramnagar town. Bijrani zone is 5 km from Amadanda gate and one has to take permission from the from the office of Corbett Tiger Reserve to enter the zone. Bijrani zone is closed during the monsoon season as the roads washed out due to the rain. It opens from 15th November to 30th June every year. During this period in morning and evening, jeep safari and elephant safari are available. In one jeep, maximum 6 people can be accommodated and it is advised to book your safari in advance. Visitor Season: 15 October to 30 June

Dhangari Gate -

Dhangri gate is the entrance gate to enter the dhikala safari zone, 19 kms from Ramnagar. Dhikala is the core buffer area of National Park. Located in the middle of the national park on the edge of the broad Patli Dun valley from where river Ramganga flows. It is the most famous zone for wildlife safari in national park.Every year Dhangri gate is opened from 15th November till 30th June. Dhikala is closed during the monsoon season. Inside dhikala zone, Dhikala forest lodge is the guesthouse run by the forest department which is 30kms from the dangri gate. It is the largely famous and the biggest zone of Jim Corbett National park. The journey from dhangri gate to the buffer zone is amazing as you passes through dense sal forest and river Ramganga. This is the best place for bird watching and to track wild animals. Dhikala is the main attraction for the jim Corbett as lot of visitors visit Dhikala during November to June to track tigers and wild animals closely. One of the best and perfect place to feel the nature with the presence of wildlife.

Durga Devi Gate -

Durga Devi Safari zone is around 28 Km from Ramnagar. Lies on the north-eastern boundary of the Jim Corbett National Park, it covered with hills along with the bank of Ramganga river. Tourists have to take the permission from the Forest authorities before entering the zone. Durgadevi zone is the untouched territory of the park and one can explore the zone via elephant safari and jeep safari. But to explore the durga Devi zone, elephant safari is considered to be the best option. The entrance gate is located just few kilometres away from some good known resorts. Besides wildlife, one has a easy access to the banks of Ramganga river which is the best place to enjoy fishing and angling. Mahseer fish is common in the river waters. During stay in this fantastic zone, you get once-in-life opportunity to go for angling facilities at the Ramganga camp at bhikiasen crossing the gate.
