A beautiful temple next to the Naini lake,Naina Devi temple is dedicated to goddess Naini Devi.It is located at the northern shore bank of Naini lake in Nainital.It is believed that one of the emerald green eyes of Goddess Sati wife of Lord Shiva fell to earth after she self-immolated herself because of the insult of Lord Shiva by her own father.The temple of Naina Devi is built on the spot where the eyes (naina) of the Goddess are assumed to have fallen, when Lord Shiva carried her body.

Naina devi temple which is situated near local tibet market.The aarti timings are early 7 am and in the evening 7 pm.

Best Time to Visit Naina Devi Temple

During Navratri in the month of October is the Best time to visit the temple.Although, temple is opened all days round the year.One can find huge crowd during the festivals.During Nanda Ashtami, a fair is organized in the Naina Devi temple and devotees come for darshan and take blessings.

How To Reach Naina Devi Temple

Naina Devi Temple is located at the northern shore bank of Naini lake in Nainital.It can be reached easily from Nainital bus stand.The nearest railway station is Kathgodam railway station which is approximately 35 kms by road and takes 30 minutes to reach there.

Naina Devi Temple Timings

Temple opens at 6.00 AM in the morning and close at 10.00 PM in night.The aarti timings are 7 am in morning and in the evening 7 pm.
