The Church of St. Francis of Assisi is located in Old Goa and 9 Km away from Panaji. and is situated in the same complex, where Se Cathedral is situated. The church is a amazing building, constructed during 1517-1521 AD. St. Francis of Assissi Church of Goa has now been turned into a museum. The Church of St. Francis of Assissi has been designed very finely.The main entrance of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi is in Manuline style and the exterior of the church is of the Tuscan order.There is a statue of St. Michael right at the entrance of the church. The structure is lime-plastered and built of laterite blocks. The church has a nave with three chapels on either side, two altars in the transept and a main altar, a choir and faces west. The internal buttress walls separates the chapels and supports the gallery on top have frescoes showing intricate floral designs. The main altar is Baroque with Corinthian features. The convent, which forms an annexure to the church, now houses the Archaeological Museum.
